I use Microsoft Dynamics accounting system and process payroll like everyone else.  We collect time sheets and track attendance (holidays, vacations and sick leave days).  We have a small Admin/HR department and as our staff has grown to over 100 at six different locations through out the city, manually processing payroll from beginning to end would take nearly seven hours of my time.  It was time to look at a more efficient way to do payroll without adding another staff person or creating a lot of expense. 

Now I use two systems from Pentad to do payroll; the Time Clock System and the attendance module in the HR System.  The Time Clock System allows us to collect time sheets from all six locations right from my computer.  It’s very simple to use and Pentad designed an easy way to export the information in to my Dynamics program so that the whole process is pretty much automatic.  Just by implementing the TCS it cut payroll processing from seven to four hours. 

The attendance module in the HR System is used to track time off benefits for both hourly and salaried employees.  Pentad designed a way to integrate the tracking of attendance with the collection of time sheets and made it easy to export the information in to my Dynamics program.  After implementing this process payroll now takes me three hours or less, for over 100 employees, it’s awesome.

The TCS is very simple to use for the employee and the manager.  It literally takes only a few seconds for an employee to clock in or out on the computer and it doesn’t matter which location they start or end their day.  The greatest challenge in implementing the TCS was training the managers and supervisors to validate their employee’s times.  This is to insure that the employees work times are as expected and accurate, and that there are no events where an employee has forgotten to clock in or out.  This makes my job very easy when the day comes to do payroll.
